Epiphone Recording Model B (ca. 1924)
Schoenberg Epi B

This is an instrument from a period when Epiphone made superlative guitars and banjos.  Note the unique early example of cutaway design allowing access to the extreme upper register.  These guitars actually have a very slight arch in the top although they have a flat top-style glued bridge and viewed casually they look much like a regular flat top.  The pressed laminated backs also have a shallow arch to them.  The peghead shows banjo design influence and carries banjo-style planetary gear tuning machines.
